Gregory- Thanks so much for responding and for your compliment. I have not tried NPPA-L yet, but I do belong to American Photojournalist website which I highly recommend. I just think there needs to be a forum in this particular industry specifically for women. First of all, it is still mainly a male dominated industry, but that seems so be slowly changing. Secondly, I think it would be great for females to get advice from other females out there because we sometimes face different issues than a man would. For example, doing this work while leaving behind children and a husband is something that would probably be harder on a mother than a father in the same instance. Also, women are also treated differently in Muslim countries than men are. It just seems like it would be great to speak with other women in this industry. I have been speaking mostly to men in the field for so long. Anyway, I thought it would just be a good idea and a chance for some comraderie. Believe me, it's nothing to do with not enjoying conversations with male photojournalists. It's just a different view and a sense of having something more in common than just our profession or would-be-profession. Have your tried the NPPA-L? I like the eye contact with the images of the kids on your site.
