Secondly, the Durabrite inks are (in the words of Epson) "optimized for plain and matte papers" (from the Epson Technical Brief on the Durabrite inks.)

Hi everyone, I've been having a problem with getting a truly glossy print from both the Epson C 80 and the C 82 printers. Regardless of the paper I use and the printer settings I choose, all prints come out with a satin or semi glass finish and because of this, they lack rich blacks and an extended tonal range. Is there something here I don't know about? It's hard to believe Epson would create printers that cannot achieve a better tonal range. The 880 series was fine in this regard. Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dave Moore
