They aren't a scam. I am a graduate. I liked their format but believe you could learn the same things by finding good books at the library or bookshop. I didn't really take advantage of calling in for help during my lessons (I'm not sure they even still offer that feature)...I would definitely take advantage of it now. If one is just starting out, this may be a fairly reasonable way to go but the burden of learning is still on the individual; if the student is one who can read and apply he'd probably do fine but if he needs to see demos and examples, this course may not be the best bet.
