I have a Photek stand set and the stands are cheaply and shabbily
built. The lock nuts don't or they do when you get them but then, as
you tighten them down use after use, they slip and stop working. I
use the bg pipe but hang it rather than setting it on the stands.
Then I put my strobes on the stands.
Caveat Emptor, as they say.
