Sorry, I didn't read all of your reply before my response. As far as Egypt, I have been there. In fact, my dad lived there. We were there at the same time a group a tourists were shot up in front of their hotel on the road to the pyramids, as well as a plane to Luxor getting hijacked. I think that was followed up by more tourists being shot to death at the Valley of the Kings. Anyway, you are right. It is a dangerous profession and it's a shame they don't always pay pj's enough to be their lives on the line. But, as I said, it is my passion and if I have to pay my own way to do the type of photography that I want to do, somehow I will find a way. This is precisely why my husband gripes that I don't make in money with what he still considers my "hobby". I actually run a photo tour business so I can support shooting the type of things that I am passionate about. But, as I said in my last email, I don't want to hurt anybody else with my actions. Ami actually made a talk about pj's underselling themselves and bringing down the money in the industry as a whole. Which is why I was surprised that everyone thought that wasn't enough money. Anyway, I totally understand what you are saying and hope I don't contribute to bringing down the rates in the industry (now that I think I know what they are). I just don't know how I can ask more than someone of Ami caliber considering my lack of actual pj experience.
