Brutal method:
create a signature from you
Emboss it in gray
put in on a lyer in the same file as your image
Adjusting transparency and setting the way the layer acts (overlay) will determine how visible it is
Whe you're happy flatten the image and save as.... whatever you want

Which format? Jpeg, Tiff, PSD, Windows bitmap?

Read electronically by what and for what purpose?


Embedding a signiature is easy: doing so in a manner which will survive being opened and resaved (eg in a different format) is anything but.
