Uk licensing laws regulating the sale of alcohol allow sale to anyone over 18 (not 16 as stated in my notes on the above picture) - it is so long ago since I first met the demon drink that I forget the rules !. Anyway British "Pubs" generally open between 11 am and 11 pm under current rules, with some variation in specific circumstances. These laws have been in place for very many years.
