See what they are offering, Marilyn, and if it is all rights, smile, accept the kind gift, and thank the person responsible. Eventually you may decide to sell stock, and this could prove useful. A kind gesture and gift., proof of a good working relationship.

Hello Photoforum Members. I could use some suggestions, please.

A studio I once worked for is offering me ownership of the work I produced under work for hire conditions.

What rights to the work should I expect? All rights? (In all fairness, I couldn't have produced the images if the studio hadn't given me the opportunity and I'm not being asked for anything in order to take possession of the work).

The human subjects signed the studio's releases at the time the photographs were taken; in the case of the pets I photographed their owners signed releases. Would having these releases do me any good now that I will have possession of the work? (If I find a use for the photographs, I would write new releases and have the subjects sign them, regardless.)

If any of you can think of anything I should be aware of, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Thank you in advance.

Marilyn
