Steve, If you are sending them to a stock house or publication for spec then label them with all pertinent data including copyright and your personal info such as email and phone number. I would leave off the date unless they ask. If there is subjects such as wildlife, the Latin name is very professional. If you are sending the slides to a customer, such as a wedding or function, then just copyright with your personal info. Make sure to always add your email address.
