Yes, Dektol tends to be light brown, like others have said. And D76 is definitely a film dev - and I've never seen it sold in anything other than single packs of powder. Dektol will oxidize rather quickly compared to the Ilford/Agfa paper devs in my experience but sometimes yields rather more sublte results w/fiber-based paper...espec as it heads towards its exhaustion point. Many times I will stop and store my dev at around the 50% of recommended capacity, and use that in next session mixed w/fresh batch. This helped take out the overly stark "snap" one sometimes gets from absolutely fresh paper dev.
