Happy Friday fellow photographers, I am a part-time faculty member for a small liberal arts college in Illinois. I am blending traditional b&w photography with digital in an Introduction to Photography class. The department chair would like to purchase some digital cameras for the department. The cameras would be used by photo students, graphic artists and students of other artistic disciplines. My thoughts are to purchase cameras with a compact flash card requiring the student to buy the card, shoot their assignment then be able to pass the camera off to another student. I am looking at the Canon A & S series digital cameras at this point. I welcome your perspective on the best value and durability for this scenario.
