hi, emily!

thanks so much for the info. i will digest the info, and make a decision re:
the old photos.

i do have a scanner, and also work with adobe a lot. maybe after i get them
flat, i can scan them in pieces (as you suggested). maybe i could then put
them back together on adobe via a collage.

unfortunately, i do not have the negatives. they were given to my
great-grandmother (1867-1949) from her step-son. He was the President of the
NYC "credit retail men." Justin is in the photo. All the other people are,
i am sure, long deceased, as would be the photographer. i thought that after
a certain amount of year (75 years maybe?) the copyright is expired. i know
that when i use the machine in wal-mart, you can use older professional
photos after 75 years (i think that is the year). thus, perhaps i could make
copies?

well ... i have a lot to think about. i have worked extensive, myself, with
an automatic 35mm camera for many years. i recently bought a used SLR
camera, and am learning to use it. i also have a "new" (re: older) Nikon 35
mm. i love photography ... and trying to expand my "horizons" in this area.

thanks, again, for the help, Emily.

all the best,
