If it's tiresome to be challenged on the veracity of your statements then oh
well, I guess I'm tiresome ;-)

I wasn't debating the quality to start with and should have just let it go.
Frankly I don't entirely disagree with you.  I get more consistent
enlargements from my 35mm proviaf or velvia slides than my D1x.  I find the
D1x enlargements to be pretty image dependant whereas the film is very
predictable.  I just get tired of hearing people make 'authoritative'
statements about things they clearly have no real expertise in or experience
using.

My initial disagreement was with the DOF comment and I stand by that.  While
your comment applies to the little consumer cameras it does not to the D60
class digicams.  Perhaps I'll post some test images to my website and you
can judge for yourself.

I do apologize to kostas for derailing his thread...
