Frankly I don't entirely disagree with you. I get more consistent enlargements from my 35mm proviaf or velvia slides than my D1x. I find the D1x enlargements to be pretty image dependant whereas the film is very predictable. I just get tired of hearing people make 'authoritative' statements about things they clearly have no real expertise in or experience using. My initial disagreement was with the DOF comment and I stand by that. While your comment applies to the little consumer cameras it does not to the D60 class digicams.
