Most all the plug ins that I've ever used have the 
option to be PUT in a certain directory. That is how I install mine, anyway, so 
I can direct them to whichever verion I want. I flip between version 5.5 and 
version 7.

A suggestion is to put each different version of 
  Photoshop in its own directory...that way you can direct uploads to the 
  correct directory and overwrite what the plug in is trying to do 
  automatically. 

    I'm on a PC and this is how I've set my system 
    up.
