Hi Gang.............. A while back we were discussing things to do when a person has no inspiration to do photography. I very often find myself in a slightly different position...... I work a "real" job days as a Dark Room Tech. for a Document Management company. I work as a Photographer "Professionally" as a sideline. (all the money I make goes back into the business) [you know.....get more toys!] I also am a "Musician" as a side line. I play guitar and sing in a Folk/Rock Duo. I got interested in the guitar and cameras both when I was around twelve years old. Now here is where I am going with all this......... Quite often I will get VERY much into one interest and the other one will go by the way side for a bit...... Right now with the duo I play in we are starting to market our selves to prospective Coffee Houses and Night Clubs,. so we have been doing a lot of rehearsing and stuff. I have not touched a camera in about three weeks. At the same time, when I am involved in a photographic project with one of the local Theatre companies that I work with, I spend all my time in the Studio or the Dark Room. As much as I swing back and forth between one interest and the other I always consider myself a Photographer first and a Musician second. Yes.... Many people have told me that they prefer to listen to me take photos! (grin......) Maybe this is why I don't ever get tired of my two interests, I can move back and forth from one to the other. I often wonder if I would enjoy either of them as much as I do now if I was doing them full time and as a means to pay the bills! Russ R.E. Baker Photography rebphoto@pronetisp.net
