this may raise the hair of some, but... since it was agreat fuss to change from my 2 screw mount lenses to the original bayonet amidst a rock concert (the adaptor satys inside the camera mount in Pentax models), i did this.... - got an adaptor for each lense - removed the leaf spring safety catch that keeps the adaptor on the mount after removing (screwing off) the lense - screwed the adaptor really tight on the lense - found the way to keep the now bayonet lense fallig off the camera. on Pentax models this is achieved by a spring loaded stud (camera mounted) that engages a recess on the lense body, thus restricting lese turning off the mount. so the obvious solution is to driil that a recess on the lense body! creapy hah? so, i put correction liquid on the general spot, pur the lense on, removed it, and saw the mark. than i took my dremel tool and starting with less then a 1mm drill bit made the first hole, which was suncequently enlarged to proper size... it was a marginal situation though..mu jupiter is a narrow bodied lense and the recess is slighly open on the lense exterior, and on the big Makinon, the drilled recess is right next to an assembly screw! fhew! but in the end, it really works ! to the extend that i purposely tighten the adaptor on the Jupiter lense enough tio be able to unscrew it and share the lense with a fellow nikon user fixing his own adapter... that's all folks, kostas and the guy at the service lab that measured the stops on these lenses, was impressed...he was thinking about drilling for retainer screws perpenticulr to teh threads etc.... =============================================== so... no matter what, CHEER UP MY FRIENDS! Life is too precious to jump the other side of the fence... kostas papakotas / clenched teeth photography http://groups.msn.com/clenchedteethphotography/home.htm 'COS SOMETIMES IT IS BETTER WITH CLENCHED TEETH! _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
