I expect he is referring precisely to metamerism. http://www.datacolor.com/meta.htm Prints that look excellent under one illuminant (eg incandescent bulb) but awful under another (eg flourescent) ... This does seem to affect some injet prints more than others (and certainly more than old silver prints). The worst for sure is B&W when you have a nice black - only for it to look green elsewhere ;o(
