First I wanted to thank all of you for sympathizing with me (when I posted about break-in in my car) and giving me advice on insurance. Today something miraculous happened.......!! I got all my camera equipment back. Since my stuff got stolen (2 weeks back), I was checking the local classifieds listing just for the heck of it. Today someone posted an ad listing everything exactly the same (it was stupid of him :), I called that guy, fixed a time and met him in a starbucks in san francisco. When I was sure that this is my camera, I called police from the rest room and keep talking to that guy saying that someone is bringing the money (he insisted on cash). An officer came with-in 5 minutes and ......... The officer first hand-cuffed that guy and told me that there are 2 options, one press charges or take my bag and just let the guy go. If I pressed charges, police would have to keep my camera bag as evidence and it would go to trial etc etc. The other option was that police run a record on that guy, if something found, they will take him in else he would be free to go. I chose the second option. I wanted so much to punch that guy and press charges, but then I didn't want my camera bag to remain in police custody for weeks. (and I don't know the details of a trial also) Anyhow, It was quite dramatic afternoon. It's so amazing and unbelievable.........I am soooo happy now. I have my camera bag with all the stuff, my N80, 4 lenses, flash, filters (even film) back with me.........:)) Now I wanna get a D100 :)) Rohit http://www.purplemoments.com
