Restore 8.1.4 backup in 8.2.5

I have a backup file from Postgresql
8.1.4. When I try to use 8.2.5 pg_restore the restore doesn't recognize
the archive format. The archive file was made with the command below. Is
there a way to get 8.2.5 to recognize the file, or a way to run the file
as a script from a different program like PG_ADMIN III? As far as I can
see the archive is text. My postgresql 8.1.4 installation is no longer
working.
