We should not forget the possibility that there's more than one bug here. The people who were seeing leakage on BSD might be facing a different problem than what you are dealing with on Linux. It'd be worth trying the psql-in-a-tight-loop example on the BSD boxes that are showing the problem. regards, tom lane
