Actually it is linux/apache. Yes, I could do it that way, but eventually I've sattled for a cron job that lookes-up a single 'dirty_log' table and does the housekeeping if necesery. Still, from my point of view, this is a workaround. Not an elegant, 'database' solution, which I was looking for. -R
