You can get to where you need to be by passing an indicator in the trigger arguments, eg, CREATE TRIGGER ... BEFORE UPDATE ... EXECUTE PROCEDURE mytrigger(0); CREATE TRIGGER ... AFTER UPDATE ... EXECUTE PROCEDURE mytrigger(1); regards, tom lane
