I have open at one of my premier clients. Job Title: Senior Postgres DBA Duration- contract to hire Location- downtown Atlanta GA Job Description: Description: EIS EDO - Senior Postgres DBA. A Bachelor’s Degree is Required. Business Initiative/Purpose: Manager is looking for an senior Postgres DBA Engineer to lead and manage all Postgres Database workload within the Enteprise Data Office (EDO). The Postgres DBA will lead all efforts related to documentation, database tuning, routine maintenance,
backups for multiple Postgres databases for multiple applications with EDO.
Initial/Primary Project Names: Atlas Data Lake
Top 3 must have skills: - Technical Postgres DBA with +5-8 years to lead activities such as performing database administrating/monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning for the newly installed postgres database
- Provide technical architecture and design as required; work with application owners to support database consolidation, migration, and virtualization.
- Proven experience of leading technical team (no HR accountability experience required. Technical leadership is what we are looking for) Top 3 plus/nice to have skills: - Experience of working with Postgres Database - Prior experience of working in Financial Industry - Experience in Data Governance, Data Management etc - Experience with virtual servers - Design and Development experience of working with Postgres database
- Experience of leading team of developers - Experience of working in a matrix environment with FTE and Global resources - Prior Data Architecture and Data governance work
Prior Experience / Skills Needed: - Communication: Verbal/Non Verbal/Interpersonal/Soft skills - Experience with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
Responsibilities: - Deliver business value through design and development of Postgres Database using consistent process, methods, and governance to position client competitively in the market
- Drive efficiency and accountability into infrastructure ecosystem through strong data architecture by working with Product Manager and Solution Architects. - Ensure strategic and BAU reference data demands are met efficiently and effectively. - Lead technical team consisting of FTEs, management consultant, and onshore/offshore resources - Work with other technology teams in matrix environment for successful production implementation of new and enhanced Postgres Database - Work with Finance and Other business partners to understand Requirement and translate that to high quality Reference Data capability to support Finance and other Business segments Additional information: - Postgres is fairly new at the bank so they will want this person to help develop standards and make it a major database at client. - Moving into AWS and Postgres is a large component so AWS experience would be a huge help - Solid, more recent experience with Postgres is required for this role (the longer the better but at least 1 year plus.) - Postgres version 9 would be sufficient for this project. - Solid DBA experience - MUST be willing to work on site at Atlanta location I look forward to hearing from you about this position, and any others that you could possibly be a fit for.
