Position: Postgres DBA
Location: Nashville, TN or Portland, OR

Emma is currently looking for someone with PostgreSQL skills to manage our growing production and development infrastructure. Emma's DBA will manage the day-to-day operations of one of the largest and most unique Postgres database environments in the world, working closely with the systems and development teams to create, test and implement architectural and schema changes. You'll troubleshoot issues, gather data, optimize queries, and research errors.

Desired skills we're looking for:

• Experience managing, supporting and designing terabyte sized high-availability PostgreSQL database systems
• Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills
• Monitor and report on performance
• Experience testing and debugging code alongside software engineers
• On-call support in emergencies
It'd be nice if you had:

• Experience with hardware
• Fluency with at least one procedural SQL language (i.e. PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL, etc...)
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
Location is flexible. Candidates in (or willing to relocate to) Nashville are a plus.
