Position: Postgres Developer/ with DBA Skills
Role
- Planning, coordinating, and administering activities related to PostgreSQL database(s), including:
- User management

Backup
- Performance benchmarking

Upgrades
-
Operational guidelines
-
Security
-
Coding both server side (PL/pgSQL and SQL) and client side (Ruby, Shell, Pentaho, and Python) as needed

Partner with project team to ensure the most effective and efficient strategy for:

Database access

Query optimization
-
Database concurrency
-
Schema design
-
Assist and mentor engineers in optimizing queries and schemas
Education/Experience Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
-
5-8 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
-
5 years DBA experience with Oracle, Postgres, and mySQL
Required Competencies

Solid database development skills

Exceptional ability to identify and resolve database-related issues

Experience in developing stored function and database client applications

Knowledge of standard operating procedures for administering PostgreSQL databases

Experience in performance of Tune and Benchmark PostgreSQL databases,
as well as working knowledge of back-up and recovery PostgreSQL
databases

Skilled in user, schema, and storage management
