Hi, 

No - not conclusive reason to think it won't work - just would
like verification (if it exists) that it does work.
Note - though the targets are different, the file is being
opened/read by 2 different uncompress -c s...

Do you have any reason to doubt that this would work?  Have you tried
it?  As long as the targets are different I don't see any problem.
