New module announcement: pam_netns

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello mailing list,

i want to announce a new Linux-PAM module named pam_netns.

Programmers:
============
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Meier (idea and code base)
- Julian Thome (code modifications, testing)

Description:
============
pam_netns allows to setup a private network namespace for every user
session (comparable with pam_namespace for filesystem namespaces). This
is especially useful on multiseat environments.

Requirements:
=============
To use pam-netns you need an actual kernel version >= 2.6.36. Since this
version the "unix domain socket network isolation patch" from Daniel
Lezcano is integrated into the kernel. Otherwise (kernel version <
2.6.36) you need to patch the kernel sources manually and recompile it.
There are some patches available in the "patches" directory of the
pam-netns repository.

Checkout:
=========
svn co https://pam-netns.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/pam-netns

Documentation:
==============
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pam-netns
http://pam-netns.sourceforge.net

Feedback:
=========
If you have tested out this module and/or ideas to improve it, please
give us feedback.

Cheers,
  Julian
