Not sure if *.* is valid, use "*.debug" as suggested. Also make VERY SURE u hv one or more <TAB>s between "*.debug" and "/var/adm/debug", stop the syslogd, touch /var/adm/debug, and restart syslogd. This is a typical issue with syslogd.
