odd message from pam_unix

Hi,
I've recently switched over to using LDAP, and now I'm getting strange
errors in my logfile:

Apr 11 13:47:53 hermes pop3(pam_unix)[27962]: check pass; user unknown
Apr 11 13:47:53 hermes pop3(pam_unix)[27962]: authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty= ruser= rhost=

I get these everytime someone uses pop or imap. They see nothing different
on their end (they can pop/imap their mail just fine). I assume I must have
something misconfigured in my /etc/pam.d/pop (and /etc/pam.d/imap) file.
Here's my /etc/pam.d/pop file:

#%PAM-1.0
auth required /lib/security/pam_env.so
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_unix.so likeauth nullok
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_ldap.so use_first_pass
auth required /lib/security/pam_deny.so

account required /lib/security/pam_unix.so

Help?

...thnx,
...dave
