Hi, Please disregard my prior message. With looking into further how pam_limits works I have found out where I was going wrong. I was not looking at this as LIMITS but as actual default settings. Pete > Hi, > > I am using pam_limits.so from pam-0.72 and in /etc/pam.d/login and in > /etc/security/limits.conf all of the limits I define get set on users > logging in except the core size. The only other place that I see a > "ulimit -c" command being executed is /etc/profile but having commented > that out I still am getting a core size of 0 - even for root.
