Hi Guys, I have tried to compile Linux-PAM-0.72 on a Slackware 7.0 system. I get all kinds of bugs and warnings, e.g.: pam_mail.c:312: warning: pointer of type `void *' used in arithmetic pam_mail.c:313: warning: pointer of type `void *' used in arithmetic and errors: gcc -O7 -pipe -g -DLINUX_PAM -ansi -D_POSIX_SOURCE -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wpointer-arith -Wcast-qual -Wcast-align -Wtraditional -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wnested-externs -Winline -Wshadow -pedantic -I/home/glxy/tmp/Linux-PAM-0.72/include -fPIC -Dlinux -Di386 -DWANT_PWDB -DPAM_DYNAMIC -c pam_mail.c -o dynamic/pam_mail.o pam_mail.c:39: pwdb/pwdb_public.h: No such file or directory /usr/include/bits/string2.h: In function `__mempcpy_small': In file included from /usr/include/string.h:346, from pam_mail.c:31: If I go into pam_mail.c, and eliminate the need to include pwdb/pwdb_public.h, the same sort of thing happens with quite a few of the module files, e.g.: /usr/i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lpwdb: No such file or directory collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Is there a library(ies) that Red Hat has that Slakware doesn't? I despair of every being able to build this tool, but I need it to run the secure shell application, ssh. I'm not keen on a system rebuild to Redhat, but is this the only way? Thanks, Tom
