Re: openssl and pluggable engine digests

I need to create a certificate request using a pluggable engine, in my case it's GOST, that I
built in LibreSSL and attached to OpenSSL 3.0.x.

IIRC LibreSSL stripped out the entire concept of dynamically loadable modules, such as engines, when they were hacking and slashing rather aimlessly when they forked about a decade ago. (From browsing git logs at the time, long ago.)

Would you elaborate more on what "built in LibreSSL" and "attached to OpenSSL" means in your context?

Cheers,

BBB
