At the very least drop "zlib-dynamic" support. This has caused "DLL-hell" on some platforms, when a dynamically loaded libz conflicts with a different statically compiled libz in another library. For example, some "ports" versions of FreeBSD Postfix with OpenSSL and MySQL crash in SSL_accept when compression is negotiated (because MySQL includes an internal libz in those builds). My own builds of OpenSSL have always (over a decade now) been "no-zlib". -- Viktor.
