Hi *, in the config file of nntpcache is a section to supply a default overview format for servers that supply the "xover" command but not the "list overview.fmt". # the below is used for a few brain-dead servers that xover but refuse # to provide an overview.fmt overviewFmtDef Subject From Date Message-ID References Bytes Lines The Microsoft-Newsserver is a server with such a "brain dead" behaviour. But the default overview format isn't applied for groups from that server. The response from nntpcache is as follows: 200 gate.ptv.de NNTPcache server V1.0.1 Feb 5 1997 ready (posting ok). group microsoft.test 211 814 4040 4854 microsoft.test xover 430 no overview.fmt for this server quit 205 What can I to to apply the default overview format (and get the xover command working)? regards ralph
