Has anyone managed this? Is it even possible? I'm trying to run nntpcache on FreeBSD 4.3. I've installed NEC socks5 client/server. When trying, "runsocks nntpcached" I receive these errors. Jul 11 12:43:54 jester nntpcache-update[2864]: sockets.c:74: could not convert 'news.nntpcache.org.' to an address Jul 11 12:45:17 jester nntpcache-nocem[2876]: nocem.c:325:No child processes: group change to 'news.lists.filters' failed Jul 11 12:48:56 jester nntpcache-update[2908]: sockets.c:71:Invalid argument: couldn't bind to DEFAULT Jul 11 12:50:28 jester nntpcache-nocem[2921]: nocem.c:325:No child processes: group change to 'news.lists.filters' failed After letting it run for a few minutes, a telnet localhost 119 says that 503 NNTPCache-2.4.0b2 initial server rebuild in progress (1620 groups complete, at least 1380 groups to go. Please try again later. Connection closed by foreign host. It never gets beyond 1620 groups. The connection to the socks proxy eventually dies and nothing happens. I'm not sure if this is the right place to be asking, but the nntpcache.org website seems to be lacking in useful info and the man / help files don't seem to cover this scenario. Any help would be greatly appreciated. James.
