Hello All:

Well of course with enough flapping in panic, I found the solution to my problem with the suddenly crashing 2.3.3

I set my maxMmap up to 32Mb and NNTPCache 2.3.3 stopped crashing - something I am sure I should have known to do.  My apologies for asking something I could/should have looked up.

The list of groups from our News feed provider must have crossed over the threshold (they're at about 88,000 this afternoon) and caused our daemon to start crashing.

Also, I got around the compile problem of err.h in 2.4.0b5 by using the diff patch submitted by Andrew Hobson July 21.  Thanks Andrew.

Does anyone know how to get around this error in compiling 2.4.0b5 on solaris 8?  I have already tried :

./configure --without-authinfo-ldap --without-authinfo-radius

But I still get:

authinfo_pam.c:18: security/pam_misc.h: No such file or directory
authinfo_pam.c:26: `pam_got_pass' undeclared here (not in a function)
authinfo_pam.c:26: initializer element is not constant
authinfo_pam.c:26: (near initialization for `pam_authenticator.authinfo_pass')
authinfo_pam.c: In function `pam_got_pass':
authinfo_pam.c:86: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type

Many thanks for all the help,
Bryan Guset
