compiles ok, but: it gets active, active.times and newsgroups from the
server, but never writes them to disc.
The last message in the log is:
Sep 25 12:21:44 poptest nntpcached-update[1875]: update daemon finished
(after "merging 'newsgroups' ...", etc.)
But the cache directory still only contains:

In newsserver.dergel.de I see:

I tried to make this directory group writable (775), nntpcache creates
it with (755), but with the same result.
After this it is impossible to connect to nntpcache:
nntpc@poptest<8>: telnet 0 119

nothing further happens...
