nntpcached goes mad

I cannot access one of the mailing list archives. So I don't know if this
is a FAQ.

I'm running nntpcache 2.4.0b4 on RedHat 6.1 with kernel 2.2.12-20.

After starting nntcached it works fine, but after a while (1 day or
few hours) it looks like this:

top:

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT LIB %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
 9833 news 13 0 1164 1164 1028 R 0 99.3 0.4 285:21 nntpcached

# ps ax |grep nntpcache
 9833 ? R 285:38 nntpcache: waiting for connections

At this moment no client process exists. When I attach to the running
process with gdb, I see select() always returning immediatly with errno=10,
which should mean: "ECHILD No child processes".

So there seems to be the loop.

Accessing to the newsgroups works, although it seems to be somehow slower
(of course).

Any Idea's? Is that a bug already been fixed by any patch?
