The following messages (and ones similar) occur from NNTPCache 2.4.0b3 & 2.4.0b4 are displayed on the console and are logged in newslog. -- message begin -- May 28 14:50:35 newshost nntpcache-client[10085]: xover.c:732:Bad file descriptor: unable to lockex 'newsserver./newsgroup/195584_xover' --- message end --- Notes: * the name of the host has been changed to "newshost" * the name of the news server has been changed to "newsserver" * the name of the news group has been changed to "newsgroup" This message and large numbers (>50) of them occur when the news client first starts downloading article headers. Host systems is a NetBSD/i386 1.4.1. What is happening here? -- Stephen Welker
