Quite possiblty. Cache efficiency only measures bytes in : bytes
out, not savings compared to a news feed, or savings in time. If
you have only a small number of readers (or the cache hasn't been
active long), then the polling of active/newsgroups/active.times
(etc) can mean more information has gone into the cache from servers
than out of the cache to clients.
