(I assume you meant News Rover? BTW, I just found out that Grabber has been
renamed NewsGrabber, and it still happens with NewsGrabber 2.1.06.)

I have tried a few and the only one that seems to do it is grabber.
However, grabber does not seem to do it when talking to a real news server.
So as I said, there is some sort of interaction, but I'm not exactly sure
what that interaction is. Here's my syslog:

Jun  6 15:40:43 piano nntpcache-client[3350]: group.c:206: current newsgroup

Jun  6 15:40:43 piano nntpcache-client[3350]: sockets.c:463: =>
[corp.supernews.com.] XHDR PATH 331520-345243

So it looks like it is running 2 threads, one which asks for XOVER and the
other asks for XHDR PATH.  I tried each manually via telnet localhost nntp;
the XOVER runs great, but the XHDR is very slow.

I strongly suspect that all the other browsers I tried do not use XHDR.

Does this give any ideas?
