Expire problems with Solaris 2.5.1

hey :)

I seem to be having problems with expireing.
It just doesn't want to do it.
here are some of the config file:

minBlocksFree 500000
minFilesFree 100000
maxArtAge 1d
hisHighWater 60M
hisLowWater 20M
expireCheckPeriod 3m

newsource.ihug.co.nz. DEFAULT 10m 20m 20 10m 10d 10d

Can anyone see anything that could be wrong fromt he above?
its getting kinda annoying cause I keep running out of disk space
and the machine it is run on has a 8gig HDD :/

it doesn't even help to send nntpcache a -USR2 signal and I can't
see any errors in the log files that resemble expirey problems.

if I do run out of Diskspace (Which happens abit) What is the best way to
clear it?...do a maunal delete and restart the server?

Also..what does "Apr 20 13:44:26 dot nntpcache-client[3780]:
sockets.c:354: saw more than one '\r'" mean?

Thanks heaps :)
