We just upgraded to 2.7.2.1 and it still happens but it seems to
truncate the first 2 characters of the header this time:

    [...]
    X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.05 [en] (X11; U; IRIX 6.3 IP32)
    X-Cache: nntpcache 2.3.2.1 (see http://www.nntpcache.org/)

    From: Dan Mosedale <dmose@netscape.com>
    Newsgroups: netscape.public.mozilla.general
    Subject: test 17
    [...]

'Path:' is truncated to 'th:' (other articles get 'Message-ID:'
truncated to 'ssage-ID:' so it's reproducable). Anybody else seen this?
Anybody got a fix?
