That's a non-trivial thing to review and backport only parts of it. And if you were to backport only parts of it, then you would be dealing with a kernel that only you can support, not the company/vendor that is forcing you to stick with 3.18. Why not ask them to do this work for you as they are the ones you are paying for this type of work already? Also, why 3.18?
