have you tried with similar NIC ? it could be due to damaged adapter....

It has worked perfect ever after the reboot. I just want to make sure its not a kernel issue, as when I google the error I see bunch of kernel bugs.

I just upgraded to 2.6.32-279.5.1 as well, hopefully it has some sort of a fix.
