Great to hear that you develop a new driver, The only way i know of
how to check if some one else is working on an specific driver is in
the main mailing list of the kernel, check it every day looking for
something similar to your work, but do not thing is a useless work;
send the patch to the main list and that every body check it, if the
performance is better is a very god way to improve the kernel,  thats
what all of us are looking for.
