I'm reading it, but I still haven't seen how to use the warnings to
 find/fix the mismatches.

It could be that newer kernels have better modpost whitelists that
 would prevent the warnings altogether, and that I can safely ignore
 these in this case.  But I think there must be some document that
 explains how to track this type of warning to it's source, and then
 conclusively decide the criticality of each one.
