Problem with headphones

Subject: Problem with headphones

Hello,

Yesterday I compiled the kernel 2.6.32.4. Now its up and running, but the problem now I am facing is that when I insert my headphones into the jack, I am not able to hear any sound from them, but my speakers are working perfectly fine!

Please help me in finding out the problem. Where could the problem be? What should I do to solve this problem?
