you can compile with #make CONFIG_DEBUG_SECTION_MISMATCH=y
or editing .config and then install and create initrd.
what error is giving for #make CONFIG_DEBUG_SECTION_MISMATCH=y

Are you sure. Try this
sudo update-grub to update the kernel entry
