Performance comparison between software codec and hardware codec

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

There is a DSP module in the board. I have off loaded audio processing
and video processing to this DSP module. before that we have used the
software codecs

I want compare the performance improvement after offloading the DSP task
to hardware against the software codec

can any one suggest me a way to do that

When I used software codec the processing was done mostly in the user
space. after enabling the driver the hardware dsp unit is accessed
though a /dev/ node.
